Opinion scale / NPS (Net Promoter Score)

A scale is a question type used to gather individual ratings regarding an experience, performance, or level of satisfaction.

It can be used in the traditional sense as a rating scale or according to the NPS (Net Promoter Score) method to determine customers’ satisfaction or loyalty scores.

In the NPS, participants are divided into three groups: promoters (highly satisfied customers), passives (moderately satisfied customers), and detractors (dissatisfied customers).

This allows companies to assess customer loyalty and identify specific areas for improvement.

Settings and options of the opinion scale / NPS:

NPS Method
When this option is enabled, the scale automatically adjusts to the standardized NPS method.

Number of levels
Here you can specify the desired number of scale levels and decide whether the scale should start at “0” or “1.”

Reverse rating
This option allows you to reverse the rating direction from left to right.

Visual cues
Instead of descriptive text for the positive and negative ends of the scale, icons can be displayed.

Required question
This option allows you to mark the question as required. The respondent must answer the question before proceeding to the next page of the survey.

Help Icon (Tooltip)
This option allows you to include help text or additional information behind a help icon next to the question title.

Additional text field below the question
This option allows you to provide a text field for comments directly below the question. You can freely specify the width and height (number of lines) of the text field.

“No Answer” Option
This option is particularly useful if the question has been defined as a required question. It allows the respondent to “answer” the question even if they do not wish to provide a substantive response, and to continue with the survey.

Upload Image
You can place an image directly within the question.

Advantage: The image can be displayed between the question and the answer options, in addition to the standard image upload in the questionnaire.

Additionally, you can adjust the image’s orientation, specify its position (above or below the question title), and assign an ALT attribute, which is important for survey accessibility.
